I adore this picture, I stumble across it on tumblr and it was thankfully linked back to here. You inspired me to a poem and my blog post of the day. I have give credit and linked back here. [link] Absolutely wonderful picture!
I really like this picture. The towering bookcases and the fact that they are in disrepair give the picture a kind of quiet and dark atmosphere. This contrasts wonderfully with the girl dressed so nicely and lost in the world of books, so she forgets her surroundings. I can't help it - but the fact that her dress is yellow reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I don't know if that's where you've found your inspiration, but this could be Belle reading in Beast's library - a place which haven't been used in years.

OH MY GOODNESS! I know using all caps is so iritating, but I could not help myself! This is magnificent! I cannot express how much I love it! The creative and imaginative nature of this piece is breath taking. It's amazing!!
This art work is fabulously done, with the dark and light fading into each other. The ancient look of the library and the books piled up gives it a beautiful feel, of quietness, loneliness as well as a slight glint of hope.

The lighting is done very well; it draws the eye straight to the subject of the painting. The texture and details are also very well done, as well as the words in the book. I love how her expression is so real, even though her eyes aren't completely visible. She looks really relaxed but yet interested in what she's reading. Very nice job!
