Wow, this is... amazing. But horrific. Not the style - that is the part that is amazing. I will admit that I am a blood elf geek, and I know their lore. My characters are blood elves, and I even write stories about them. To see this moment, that destroyed the High Elves (yes they are still alive, but their culture is a shadow of its former self), and gave birth to the Blood Elves.
Thalorien and lana'thel? This is so awesome and the word feels not big enough to describe this. Its beautiful a a piece of art by its own right, and the memories of playing this make it even more special.
I don't think i have ever seen a picture like this before. And I have to say I was really taken back when I first saw it. I have come back and looked at it again, and each time noticed something new. That is something a lot of people strive for in their art, and you have done it beautifully. Fav 100x over.
Uhm, according to official 'lore' , at this time blood elves were still high elves, so they should be dressed in blue rather than red. Apart from this it's one of the best warcraft illustrations I've seen - and I've seen many of them.
I don't think there's anything in the lore that restricts high elves from wearing red before the Sunwell's destruction.
The game often distinguishes High Elves by dressing them in blue to associate them with the Alliance faction, but this is more of a visual cue to players. In terms of actual lore, both High Elves and Blood Elves can wear any color they like. One High Elf in red and one in green is hardly a stretch for this illustration.
